Phone number porting
Transferring your existing phone number to a new operator when switching subscriptions. The transfer is free.
Phone number porting means transferring an existing phone number from one operator to another. In Finland number porting is a statutory consumer right and it is free of charge. The new operator handles the porting and the termination of the old subscription automatically.
Porting typically takes 1-3 business days. During the porting the subscription works normally - there is no break in calls or data. On the porting day the old SIM stops working and the new one activates.
Porting is an easy way to change operators: sign a new contract with the operator you want, give them your current number, and the new operator handles everything else. Remember that you do not need to terminate the old subscription separately.
